Do you really know how to use your health insurance and get the most out of it? Many plans have features to keep you well even if you aren't feeling "blah", tools to help you decide if you really need urgent care, and partnerships that offer low cost prescriptions that you providers don't know about!
Join MATTER's first Health-a-thon and help design products that will help all of us better utilize our insurance plans!
Form teams, collaborate, get access to MATTER mentors and Cigna executives. Build prototypes and win cash prizes plus guidance that may lead to a pilot. Any IP created is yours to keep! This kick-off event is the first of three evenings. Event 2 is on May 12th, and event 3 is on May 27th. One team member must pitch during event 3 to be eligible.
This Health-a-thon is for everyone, even if you don't know how to code! Pre-formed teams and mature products are welcome, and will be judged in a separate category.
Here are the problem statements that we'd love for you to solve!

Eligibility
Anyone can enter and participate. If you have a "mature" product, you'll be judged against other mature products. If you have a "health-a-thon" product, you'll be judged against other "health-a-thon" products.
To be eligible for a prize, one team member must pitch in person on May 27th between 530p and 8p CT at MATTER.
A "mature" product is one that was started before March 24th, and a "health-a-thon" product was one that was started on or after March 24th.
Requirements
A working prototype is preferable. All you really need to do is present a series of wireframes, but note that part of the judging criteria is "near pilotable". So recruit some friends to help you build a minimum viable product!

Judging Criteria
-
Is a real problem being solved? (20%)
Real problems need to be solved for one or more stakeholders, or sustainable businesses can't be built. -
Is there a realistic plan for adoption and dissemination of the solution? (20%)
Great go-to-market strategies are important. Validated elements are even more impressive. Indicating that you are simply adding another app to the app store is a #fail. -
Is the solution actually viable? (20%)
The mountain peak for this challenge is a working "minimum viable product" that actually solves the problem. -
Is the product+solution creative and novel? (20%)
Copying another existing solution is blah. Redesign from the ground up! -
Is this product+solution near pilot-ready? (20%)
Communicate the learnings needed from a prospective pilot of the MVP solution in context to getting closer to gaining a paying customer. Simple implementations win over complex ones.
